Oh lordy, pulse slugs were so great in OWB.

Just being able to select AP ammo or HP ammo, to say nothing of the fun stuff like dragon's breath or MIRV mininukes added so much depth to NV. I have a sneaking suspicion they got rid of ammo types as well, which is another huge step back if true. Now granted in FO4 it sounds like single shot weapons like rifles will ignore up to 50% of the target's DR with the right perk, but I'm skeptical about that being enough to swing the balance in their favor. With DT, high damage/low DPS weapons were what you used on armored targets while your high DPS weapons like SMGs and the like were for mowing down lightly armored targets and the like. With DR, you're crippling yourself using a high damage weapon against armored targets because your DPS is cut tremendously. DT was a much more nuanced system that actually made a niche for high damage low DPS weapons. Not a good way to go with a character you've been playing for 18 months. Even then you're looking at a 50/50 chance it'll still just snap you in half on it's first claw attack or at the very least crumple your expensive suit of powered armor like an aluminum beer can. The only way only way you can possibly survive a single good squeeze is if you're wearing something as heavy as Hellfire Powered Armor, have a sky-high CON stat (18-20), and have about 9 perks to increase your HP and toughness. It's damage bonus is such that if it grabs you with its main claws it'll snap you in half on *average* damage. This is a Radscorpion the size of a goddamned full length school bus. There are Albino Radscorpions and then there is the exceedingly rare "Giant" variant that not even a Behemoth will fuck with. Same thing applies to my home-brew tabletop FO3 game. 50 Anti-material Rifle with armor-piercing ammunition. VERY FAR AWAY!) and pray to your hethen gods you have a.
